When Cloee asks for fruit snacks it sounds like she's saying 'nut' instead of fruit and 'sack' instead of snacks. It kinda throws us all off every time she says it because we think she's saying something vulgar. :)
Apple= happle
Daddy= Daaaaaad!
Carlee= Cahlee, Dahlee
Orange= eeenge
Trash= sash
Ashleigh= Asheee
She loves to play pat-a-cake and head, shoulders, knees and toes.
She sometimes asks for 'teemen' (treatment) when she knows she can't breathe. Other times she still fights us. On occasion we will try to have her sit by herself and do the treatment on her own. She attempts to be defiant but as soon as we look at her she pops it back into her mouth.
She tries to take her diaper off any chance she gets so she is basically living in onesies. She LOVES to put shoes on and take them off. We often find her walking around in someone else's flip-flops and it is super funny when she wears Will's around because they are so big and heavy for her. When she wants her hair done she says "hair bow". She is a lot better about not pulling her hair and the bows out but still does mostly just when we are in the car and she is mad. I'm just thankful she now has enough hair for me to do something with.
She had a rough start but is starting to become quite darling- looks-wise, she's not so darling when she's being so sassy and defiant though. Definitely a NICU baby!
She would climb out of her crib so we took the front off and made it into the daybed mode and lowered the matress all the way as low as it goes. She still climbs out of bed and would try to come out of her room so we turned the doorknob around and we lock her in. After she falls asleep I unlock it. She stays in all night long. The only time she gets up in the middle of the night is when she needs a breathing treatment.
She is starting to babble a lot and says entire sentences, but we can't always understand every word. Right now she is talking to her baby and saying, "hold you, shoulder, crying, no no" which in sentence form it translates to "I will hold you on my shoulder but no crying". Geee wonder where she learned that from ! :)
Whenever we sit down at the table to eat, even if it is just for a little snack, she will fold her arms and say "Fader" (Heavenly Father) and that is my cue to help her say a little prayer. She is getting pretty good at praying and can even remember a few parts sometimes. I make them short for her- thank you food, love Carlee, love Cade, love Daddy, love Jesus, be sweet. If we ask her to say "I love Carlee" she says "wud ooo Cahlee" (love you Carlee). She always adds the 'you' in even if she isn't saying it right to the person. It's pretty cute.
She started to learn how to say Grammy but it comes out as 'Dammy" and Ashleigh started saying "Mimi" so to these two little girls they say "Mimi". The others still call her Grammy though.
